2018 Armed Forces Salmon Assault Fishing Tournament Saturday, May 19
Let’s take our Heroes Fishing! The Muskegon Charter Boat Association is proud to present the 8th annual charity veterans fishing event, the Armed Forces Salmon Assault, to honor our servicemen and women. The general public is invited to welcome our heroes home at 12 noon at the Muskegon pier head, where the Coast Guard escort and parade through channel, bring your flags and cheer! Shout out to Great Lakes Marina the host!
Muskegon Yacht Club Melges Spring Regatta May 18-20
The Muskegon Yacht club presents the Melges Spring Regatta with races taking place throughout the weekend. Melges sailboats are considered to be a smart buy, easy to rig, sail and trailer with a fun factor that is irresistible and addictive. Catch the awesome colors of the the sails all weekend long with races on Muskegon Lake.
Dockers Fish House
It’s summer and Docker is ready. The doors open for the season on May 19. This fun filled place for music, food and beverage is a Muskegon favorite. Boats, remember the docking areas are first come first serve. For more info visit the Dockers Facebook page.
Foreshore Adventure Run: Saturday, May 19
ForeShore Adventure Run is rolling, rumbling, tumbling, and running into year 4. The Lakeshore’s premiere 5K adventure run returns to Pere Marquette Beach on May 19, 2018 with new obstacles but the same mission: helping people to overcome life’s challenges.
New obstacles include Floatilla, where runners work their way over a 25-foot sand dune and take on a pond with dozens of inner tubes. Other obstacles include the Drum Line, where runners will crawl over large blue barrels and splash into a man-made pond; and Tunnel Vision, where runners crawl through tunnels and meet a really cool surprise on the other side. Spring Into Lakeside: Saturday, May 19 10am-5pm
You’re invited to “Spring Into Lakeside! This family friendly event features free activities for kids, such as a free bike helmet giveaway with fitting (while supplies last), bike registration with the police department, pony rides, a selfie contest, guessing games, community officers and fire trucks, cotton candy, popcorn bar, sidewalk chalk, yoga, art spot, and face painting. The Annual Dog Parade takes place at Sitting Pretty Pet Spa as well as $4 movies all day at the Harbor Cinema. For more information, call 231-755-7606.
S.S. Milwaukee Clipper Annual Fundraiser and Auction: Sunday, May 20 11am-3pm
You’re invited aboard the national historic landmark, the S.S. Milwaukee Clipper, for their annual Fundraiser & Auction! This fun filled afternoon features brunch, door prizes, a raffle, cash bar and an auction for amazing items like an African Safari and Hot Air Balloon Rides. Sailing Lessons and Adventures:
The Muskegon Sailing School, located at the Muskegon Yacht Club, invites you to learn to sail this summer. Monday nights are adult butterfly nights. Youth weekly lessons, monthly and season pass plans are available. Sailors learn how to steer, rig and control their own boat and take adventure/challenge sails around Muskegon Lake in a safe environment.
